Outdoor Skating for Beginners
This course is designed for anyone eager to skate outside but unsure how to begin. Whether you're nervous about navigating uneven terrain or just want to build confidence on your wheels, we’ve got you covered. Learn how to glide smoothly through parks and streets with ease.
Location: Hackney City Academy
We use the playground area, which includes a range of surfaces and features—stairs, a slope, an incline, cobblestones, and a smooth basketball court—all in a safe and supportive setting to prepare you for real-world skating.

⚡Skating, stopping and changing direction on bumpy outdoor surfaces
⚡How to go on and off stairs on skates
⚡Skating or walking down slopes and inclines
⚡How to deal with curbs and steps
⚡Avoiding obstacles

🌴This course is for adults only
🌴 Jam plugs are prefered over toe stops for this course.
🌴 Outdoor wheels are recommended for the best experience!
🌴 This course is only suitable for roller skaters, not inline skaters.
🌴Students will need to provide their own quad skates, and skating protection: wrist guards. elbow pads & knee pads.
🌴 In case of rain, the session cannot go ahead an an extra one will be added at the end of the course.
🌴The course ticket is for all dates. Every class will be held at the same time and place.
