Ready to swap your usual skate moves for something a little different? Isle of Skating is inviting Fiz to Hackney for a super fun, high-energy Line Dancing Workshop!

And before you think “but I can’t dance”…perfect. You absolutely don’t need to. This session is designed to be fun, welcoming and suitable for all levels, whether you’re a complete beginner, an experienced roller skater, or somewhere in between.

We’ll start off skates, learning the dances on solid ground first. Fiz will kick things off with an easy line dance to get everyone moving, then gradually introduce more intricate footwork and choreography. Expect plenty of demonstrations, time to practise, alternatives where needed, and absolutely no pressure to get everything perfect.

Once we’ve got the moves down, those who want to can put their roller skates on and take the line dances to wheels! Staying in your shoes is completely fine too.

What you'll learn

Fiz will teach different line dances, starting simple and building up as the session progresses. Expect footwork including cha-chas, crossovers, marching, weight transfers and plenty of opportunities to add your own flair.

Do I need roller skating or dance experience?

No experience is needed for the off-skates workshop. Complete beginners are very welcome.

If you'd like to try the dances on roller skates towards the end, you should be comfortable balancing on skates, transferring your weight from side to side, crossing your feet over or under, and briefly lifting one skate from the floor.

There is no expectation to skate during the session — joining entirely off skates is absolutely welcome.
