This course is for you if: you are new to roller skating and want to become a strong beginner skater with great fundamental roller skating skills. Or if you can skate a little bit but are unsure about what you’re really doing and the best things to practise to improve. This course is the progression after our Ultimate beginners course BUT You can join Level One without completing the Ultimate Beginners.
This course is not for you if: You have never put on your skates before. You don’t need to have spent hours on skates, but we want participants to have a little bit of balance before joining this Level 1 course. This course is for adults (18+) only.
Level 1: This course teaches you all the roller skating fundamentals to make you a strong beginner skater. This course is at a faster pace than our ultimate beginner course and brings more variations and fine tuning in some previously learned skills.

🌴 Getting up, Balancing and rebalancing
🌴 Safely falling down
🌴 Skating stride
🌴 Sticky skating / Bubbles / Alternating bubbles
🌴 Different ways of stopping with and without stoppers
🌴 Turning smoothly and safely
🌴 Backwards skating & Backwards stopping
🌴 Changing direction and 180’ turns: Skating from forwards to backwards to forwards (Transitions)
🌴 Forwards crossovers
🌴 Forwards weaving
🌴 Working with your edges
🌴 Learning how to balance on different parts of your skates (Manuals)
🌴 And how about some funky dance moves to get you roller disco ready?!

🌴This course is for adults only
🌴This course is only suitable for roller skaters, not inline skaters.
🌴students will need to provide their own quad skates, and skating protection: wrist guards. elbow pads & knee pads.
🌴The course ticket is for all dates. Every class will be held at the same time and place.

🌴The Roller Nation party takes place on a Monday or Thursday, voted by the majority of the group. There can only be one party per group.
