We’re in a book!

Isle of Skating founder, Nele Van Bogaert, got interviewed about her life on rollerskates for the book ‘Roller Skaters’, by teNeue.

This book is the first coffee table book on the lifestyle and trending topic of roller skating. It consists of exclusive portraits of international skate legends, and captivating photography, including roller derby, skate park and jam skaters.

While skating has always been around for some people, the sport has seen a huge resurgence in recent years. And the world of roller skating is more colorful, diverse, and livelier than ever.

Find out more about the book here.

Derby spearheaded the introduction of this fast-paced, full-contact sport to the UK and Europe, and Wild Card Brewery have featured some skaters on their designs and first up is our very own @nele.v.b founder of Isle of Skating!

For the over 18’s, you can buy The Blocker, 6.0% through the Wild Card Brewery website - we’re obsessed!

We really enjoyed hosting Yomi Adegoke from The Guardian at our skating session in Rollernation! Yomi won’t mind us saying, but she was nervous about falling and couldn’t stand up on her skates - we’ve all be there right?! With lots of patience and breaking down the foundations we got Yomi feeling confident on her skates and even taught her some dance moves!

With the skating renaissance going on, the National Geographic showed the top 5 places to Rollerskate in Europe. London is high on the list and we were so please to see Isle of Skating mentioned as a destination for learning the basics!
